Overview of Workshop:
The workshop “Teams 2.0 – Virtual Team Management in the Social Network’s Age” aims to identify challenges in the field of virtual team management in the age of rapid developments in internationalization and globalization. It brings together academia and industry to discuss important and emerging issues and trends. The workshop will be platform for presentations of innovative and challenging position papers and posters. In addition, discussion sessions will be aimed at identifying promising research directions and initiating interdisciplinary collaboration.

Topics of Interest:
Due to rapid developments in information technology, internationalization and globalization the way projects are organized and managed has to be reconsidered. Project teams formed within one organizational unit are often not flexible enough to deal with time-to-market requirements or the need to change and adapt projects in later project phases. Therefore virtual teams have become increasingly attractive for organizations. However, a project manager who has to establish an effective virtual project and an effectively working virtual team cannot be successful, if skills, knowledge and especially social relationships of the team members are not taken into account during the entire team lifecycle and represented in project management tools. This workshop will give researchers in the areas of virtual group and team management and social networks an opportunity to come together and discuss important aspects and open questions arising at the interface where both research disciplines meet each other. We encourage submissions from researchers with a variety of backgrounds and knowledge addressing topics related to virtual group and team management in the social network’s age and how projects, teams and involved members could benefit from this interdisciplinary approach.

Topics include, but are not limited to:
- Social networks in the scope of virtual teams,
- Recommender systems to find corresponding expertise and experts,
- Knowledge acquisition and management,
- Intelligent and challenging user interfaces,
- Legal, social and economic demands and benefits.
