Manuel Goertz
Manuel Goertz has studied Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the
Technische Universität Darmstadt (TUD). In 2000 Manuel received his Master
(Diplom)from TUD. His thesis dealt with the use of RSVP as a signaling protocol for
multimedia firewalls. Thereafter, Manuel joined the Multimedia Communications Lab at
TUD headed by Prof. Ralf Steinmetz. He was actively contributing to the establishing
of the research group for ubiquitous context-aware communication services.
In 2005
Manuel received his Ph.D. for his research work on Efficient Real-time Communication
Services by Utilization of Contexts. Manuel has led and worked in a number of
co-operations between industries and the university.
Effective 01.01.2006, Manuel Görtz joined SAP to work as a researcher at the SAP
Research CEC Darmstadt. He is working in the area of knowledge management and
human-computer-interaction and is active in the APOSDLE Project.
